Casa Aquario

Expansive ocean-view residence integrates high-end finishes with practical living spaces perfect for both family living and entertaining.

Casa Acuario, situated on a hillside high above Pirates Bay, is designed to take full advantage of the breathtaking ocean and mountain views. The tri-level home comprises 3500sft under roof plus a spacious terrace and pool and sizeable driveway / parking area.

The sloped lot presented interesting construction challenges, as the pool is situated above ground, requiring extensive retention walls, and the large carport and entryway are below the main living area.  In essence, the main home is constructed on a platform.  This plus the numerous different levels & elevations are reasons why framing with lightweight steel made perfect sense.

The modern-tropical design incorporates Teak, Palm and Steel, with polished Almond wood floors on the main level.  Cabinetry, shelving, and closets were all constructed at FRAME’s wood shop.  The fully insulated home harnesses natural airflow and employs UV-efficient PVC windows to keep things cool.  There is also an ELOY Wastewater Treatment system and solar hot water.

From the Owners:

"I highly recommend FRAME Projects.  They did a superb job building my house in Pirate's Bay.  It truly came out better than I had imagined.  The attention to detail as well as keeping on budget and on time were always at the top of their mind. They deliver great work as promised!"  - Becky Clower

"I used FRAME PROJECTS to build my home in Bahia de los Piratas, Costa Rica.  They were a pleasure to work with from very start to the finish and beyond.  The entire team was incredibly helpful throughout the process.  FRAME basically took over from the time I handed over the plans.  They handled the permits, dealing with architects/engineers and of course the entire construction crew.  FRAME also took the time to meet with me at the Expo Construcion to review different materials and even made purchases on my behalf while there.  FRAME even designed my kitchen and built it using local hardwoods in their own shop.

The construction material itself is something I'm very pleased with.  FRAME imported all the steel used for the structure from Canada, (none of the cheap Chinese stuff most contractors build with here in CR), plus all the other important materials such as Romex electrical wiring, PEX flexible plumbing tubing, all the connectors for this, door handles, sinks, plumbing fixtures, kitchen door handles and they even let me order my BBQ grill and put it on the container.  My company manages 35 properties in Costa Rica and, I know from experience, using quality construction materials and working with a contractor who builds using building methods and standards most North Americans and Europeans are accustomed to is very important, and that is what led me to work with FRAME.  The weather in Costa Rica is brutal on homes and having a home built using the best materials, by a quality contractor will not only save you time and money on maintenance, but also save you money when it comes to your electric bill!

I'm very happy to recommend FRAME PROJECTS to anyone wanting to build their home here in Costa Rica."  - Keith A. Clower, Owner/President - Blue Water Properties of Costa Rica
